About Us

SportHQ was founded in 2011 as a futsal and performance training facility.  Dan and Tracy Cyr acquired SportHQ in February 2018.

Our mission:

  1. To maintain SportHQ’s identity as a leader in futsal in Wake County.
  2. Expand youth sports to make SportHQ a place where families can bring their children to play sports year round taking advantage of our beautiful indoor and outdoor sports facility.
  3. To add curriculum to our sports track out and summer camps teaching specific character traits.
  4. To take pride in teaching young athletes how to be a good teammate, play fair, lose with class and win with humility.

Multisport Complex:

Located in Cary, NC, only a few minutes from Raleigh off of Rt. 440 & Rt. 1, the 15,000 square foot multisport complex offers an indoor turf field, a basketball/futsal court, 3 outdoor fields, a video/conference room, performance roombirthday party room and onsite physical therapy.

Dan Cyr


Dan graduated from the University of New England where he played varsity soccer and club lacrosse. As a lifelong athlete he has a tremendous passion for sports and the positive benefit they can have in our lives. When he’s not managing multiple businesses you can find him cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels or spending time with his wife, daughter, and Great Dane!

Eliott Torres

General Manage & Director of Camp

Eliott Torres is from Kansas City, MO and was right outside of Cary, NC. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in Psychology and Exercise and Sports Science. Drawing from his experience coaching futsal and soccer players, Eliott excelled as Camp Director and now serves as our General Manager as he pursues his MBA.

Graham Tuttle

Director of Sport Performance - B.A., CSCS

Graham is an experienced strength and performance coach from the Charlotte, NC area and a lifelong participant in sports. Graham attended UNC Chapel Hill and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science as well as his NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation. He has multiple years of experience working with athletes and general population recovering from injury and surgery and has trained professional and collegiate soccer, hockey, lacrosse, track, and cross country athletes to perform at their highest level.

Kupono Low

Director of Soccer Training

Kupono Low is from Hawaii and is a retired professional soccer player. He played with the Railhawks for over a decade while making international appearances for Puerto Rico. He brings his long pedigree of experience to SportHQ to lead the soccer training program. He uses his unique coaching and training philosophy to bridge the gap between team practice and individual training.

Taylor Wright

Performance Coach – B.S., FMS

Taylor graduated from East Carolina University with a Health Fitness Specialist B.S. while competing at a collegiate level in men’s volleyball. Taylor has deep experience working with baseball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer players to improve sport performance and skill levels. Additionally he has spent considerable time with rehabilitative populations both as a physical therapy aide and as a performance coach.

Kaitlyn Newman

Performance Coach – B.A., CPT

Kaitlyn graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with her BA in Exercise and Sport Science under the Fitness Professional track. At UNC she worked for two years under the UNC Football Strength and Conditioning Staff, servicing both the football team and varsity cheerleading.  She is an accredited NASM-CPT and has a lot of experience with tennis, soccer, cheerleaders, and lacrosse players. Additionally, she has been on both sides of the ACL recovery and is an incredible resource for athletes and adults in need of a rehabilitation program.

Brandon Bete

Performance Coach - CPT

Brandon was born and raised in Massachusetts, growing up playing hockey and golf. After competing in amateur golf tournaments through his teenage years he played 4 years of Hockey at Assumption College in Massachusetts. Upon graduation he moved to compete in professional tournaments as a golfer in Florida. Through his time playing golf competitively he found a passion for the performance and fitness side of sports and now brings his considerable wealth of experience to SportHQ to combine the physical training with the technical aspects of these sports.

Beck Atabong

Camp Counselor

Beck was born in Cameroon, a beautiful country in West Africa. As a lifelong athlete, Beck has played sports, especially soccer, since childhood. After moving to the United States, he was able to continue playing at an advanced level, finishing his college career at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Beck has developed a gratitude and appreciation for the lessons and opportunities that sports can provide.  He is passionate about working with others and helping youth find the balance between sports and life as they develop. He also coaches U13 and U15 boys teams with Triangle United Football Club.

Cole Slater

Camp Counselor

Cole is a local guy, born and raised in the Raleigh area. He played soccer and graduated from Fuquay Varina High School. He continued his soccer career at the collegiate level and is now a student at Wake Tech, pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Cole loves everything sports related which is why he enjoys working with the youth in our sports based camp. His goal is to help them develop a healthy passion and interest in sports from a young age. Outside of school and SportHQ, Cole is still involved with soccer and is working to continue as a coach in the near future.

Jonathan Van Horn

Jonathan Van Horn was a multi-sport athlete competing in soccer and basketball at Ohio Wesleyan University. Over the past 12 years, Jonathan has served as the Associate National Director for Athletes in Action’s Professional Soccer Department. He currently trains and resources chaplains and character coaches throughout the United Soccer League Championship and League 1 including the North Carolina FC in the USL Championship in Raleigh, NC. Jonathan lives in Cary, NC with Rachel and his three beautiful daughters.
