About Us

SportHQ was founded in 2011 as a futsal and performance training facility with the goal of using sports and physical activity to enhance the lives of those in the community around us. We specialize in youth performance training, adult fitness training, futsal and soccer supplemental skill development, and sports track out/summer day camps. Our objective is to create a fun, family-friendly environment for youth and adults of all ages to develop confidence and athleticism.

Our Mission:

  1. To achieve excellence in our service to our athletes and members in all programming we offer.
  2. To create a family-first environment where each of our athletes and members are appreciated and known by name.
  3. To care about those we serve as a means to positively impact the lives of all who pass through our doors.
  4. To lead through service in sharing our vision of shaping youth athletes with our core values in mind.

The Facility:

Located in Cary, NC, only a few minutes from Raleigh off of Rt. 440 & Rt. 1, our impressive 15,000 square foot training facility offers:

  • Indoor Turf Field
  • 2 Fenced-In Outdoor Turf Fields
  • 1 Fenced-In Outdoor Grass Field
  • Indoor Track
  • Video/Conference Room
  • Camp/Birthday Party Room
  • Onsite Physical Therapy.

Dan Cyr

Dan Cyr

Owner, Physical Therapist

Dan graduated from the University of New England where he played varsity soccer and club lacrosse. As a lifelong athlete he has a tremendous passion for sports and the positive benefit they can have in our lives. When he’s not managing multiple businesses you can find him cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels or spending time with his wife, daughter, and Great Dane!

Kenni Apilli

Performance Coach
Kennie holds an MBA with a specialty in Operations and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Performance with specializations in Kinesiology, Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. A graduate of the Jack Welch Management Institute and Southern Utah University, his experience includes over a decade working with youth, collegiate, professional athletes and adults of all ages. His passion to help others with their goals matured from his experiences as a collegiate athlete playing football at NC State and Southern Utah universities. As a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA, Certified Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine and Functional Movement Specialist, he firmly believes that he can help and guide anyone trying to achieve their health, fitness and athletic training goals.

Kupono Low

Director of Soccer Training

Kupono Low is from Hawaii and is a retired professional soccer player. He played with the Railhawks for over a decade while making international appearances for Puerto Rico. He brings his long pedigree of experience to SportHQ to lead the soccer training program. He uses his unique coaching and training philosophy to bridge the gap between team practice and individual training.

Coach Brandon

Brandon Bete

Performance Coach - TPI-F2, CPT

Brandon grew up in Massachusetts spending all his time playing hockey and golf. After 4 years of hockey at Assumption College he moved to compete in professional tournaments as a golfer in Florida. After his golf career he transitioned to coaching to combine the physical training with the technical aspects of these sports.

Youssef Gerges

Youssef Gerges grew up in Raleigh, NC. Currently, he is studying Physical Education at East Carolina University to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree. Youssef is well versed in soccer skills and training as a former player starting at the age of 6 years old. In his former position as a gym coach for elementary school, Youssef discovered his passion for coaching the youth and strives to develop soccer athlete’s skill set through his programmed training sessions offered at SportHQ. Youssef is our newest addition to SportHQ in leading the year round Youth Soccer Technical Skills Training for both group or private sessions.

Steven DaCosta

Steven grew up in Massachusetts. He has always had a love for sports, especially soccer, as he began to play at the age of six years old. Steven attended American International College where he spent time both playing soccer, and earning his Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning. He is very intrinsically motivated in this field by knowing that he can help someone get back to doing the things they love, and is passionate about encouraging athletes and clients to live a healthy lifestyle. As one of the newest members to the SportHQ team, Steven assists with training and coaching classes for adults and youth members.
